Your practice. Your voice.

Work with me on your own teaching.

I came to meditation the hard way. I crashed my life into a ditch: divorce, parenting two young boys solo, a new career in a new town, and then my mother passed away. I was done. But meditation and a spiritual practice saved me. It’s why this work means so much to me.

I’m Ilia Grace, a meditation teacher and the founder of On Spiritual Health. My work draws on more than thirteen years studying New Thought and on the practices I’ve used to examine my own beliefs and choices.

I also bring experience from producing my own podcast, independent films and TV, so we’ll work on both what you want to say and how to record it clearly.

Preview the nine-week curriculum

You know what it means to begin again.

01

Has meditation ever carried you through a difficult period? Or have you been working on your spiritual health long enough to notice what you wish someone could have helped you with years ago?

02

You have something worth sharing. Your unique experience and your perspective are valuable.

03

This training is where you learn the craft. How a variety of practices work, how to guide someone whose experience is different from your own, and how to trust your own voice through all of it.

04

You don’t have to wait until you feel ready. You already know what it’s like to struggle and to find something that helps. That’s the starting point.

05

Someone out there is waiting to hear a meditation that can only come from you. From what you’ve learned along the way. And from what you know to be true for you. As someone who’s found a way through.

From personal insight to teaching skill

Understand your own practice

Explore styles including mindfulness, body scan and guided visualization. Learn to recognize the thought patterns that pull you away from the life you want, and develop a practice you can keep returning to.

Know how to guide a session

Give your meditation a clear beginning and ending. Learn when to speak and when to leave room for silence. Practice aloud and get feedback on whether your instructions land.

Find words that sound like you

Write your own scripts. Draw on what you’ve learned without assuming your experience is everyone’s experience. Develop a teaching voice you feel comfortable using.

Make a recording you can share

Work through microphone setup, recording and basic editing. Prepare an original meditation and learn how to submit it to Insight Timer, or use it in your own teaching.

You can come to this from many directions.

Some students arrive with a steady practice and a first serious thought about teaching. Others already hold space for people: yoga teachers, therapists, educators, social workers and coaches who want to bring guided meditation into work they already do.

And some come because they struggled, found something that helped, and want to offer it responsibly. Lived experience gives you perspective. Training teaches you where the limits of your role belong.

If your first reason for coming is your own spiritual health, that matters too. The course includes teaching practice and recording assignments, so it’s a good fit if you’re willing to explore guiding others, even before you know where it might lead.

A practical path through nine modules

Week one, you sit with your own practice. Week nine, you guide a room.

The first cohort begins Sunday, January 10, 2027. Live sessions run Sundays at 11am ET (4pm UK) for one hour: five led by me, four peer practice workshops. Some trainings are a hundred hours of philosophy that still leave you unsure how to guide. This one is built around the craft.

  1. Foundations. Know where your practice comes from, and what a teacher is actually responsible for.
  2. Meditation styles. Practice several approaches and find the ones you can teach honestly.
  3. Thought-work. Examine the beliefs shaping your experience, so you can help students examine theirs.
  4. Script and voice. Write guidance that sounds like you, and knows when to stay quiet.
  5. Guiding live. You lead a real session this week. Then we talk about what landed.Milestone: your first live session
  6. Recording. Your voice, your script, your first finished track.Milestone: your first recording
  7. Teaching responsibly. Learn where a guide’s role ends, and what to do when a student needs more than meditation.
  8. Sharing your work. Your teacher profile ready, and your recording submitted to Insight Timer.
  9. Your offering. Bring your learning together in an assessed guided practice.

You finish with an original recording, submitted to Insight Timer, and the experience of leading meditation with feedback behind you.

Insight Timer reviews submissions independently; publication and earnings can’t be guaranteed.

Frequently Asked Questions

I’ve been practicing for years but I keep thinking I’m not ready to teach. Am I?

That thought is the most common one on this page. Most people wait for a someday that never announces itself. The training exists for the gap between practicing and guiding: you practice guiding inside the course, with feedback, before you ever stand in front of a room on your own.

What about certification?

You’ll earn a certificate of completion, based on a practice log, assessments, a submitted recording and a live guided practice. Honest context: there is no official body governing meditation teaching certification, anywhere. What you leave with is more useful than a badge: your own finished recording, prepared and submitted to Insight Timer.

Will I actually be able to guide a session after nine weeks?

That’s the point of the design. Some trainings are deep dives into philosophy that still leave you unsure how to guide. This one is built around the craft. By week five you’ve led a live session. By week six you’ve recorded. By week nine you’ve done both, with feedback.

I’m not sure I want to charge people for meditation. Does this still make sense?

Yes. Some graduates will charge. Others guide for free in their communities, or inside work they already do as teachers, therapists or coaches. The training is about guiding well. What you do with it is yours.

How much time does it take each week?

One live hour on Sundays at 11am ET (4pm in the UK), plus 3 to 5 hours a week for your own practice and assignments.

When does it begin, and what does it cost?

The first cohort begins Sunday, January 10, 2027. Tuition is $2,497 USD, including your welcome package. Early bird tuition is $1,997 but only until January 8.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes. The early bird tuition can be split into three monthly installments of $717 USD.

What’s the benefit of teaching meditation online?

Every meditation you publish keeps working after you record it. Students find it at 2am, on a hard day, in a country you’ve never visited. Over time, that builds both a quiet income and a body of work that reaches people you’ll never meet. You get to help others through their own spiritual journey while earning from something you’ve already made.

Do I need previous teaching experience?

No. The training starts with your own practice and builds from there.

What equipment do I need?

A laptop, a USB microphone, and a pair of wired headphones. Your welcome package includes the microphone, and we cover the full setup together.

Can I take the course from outside North America?

Yes. Live sessions run Sundays at 11am ET (4pm in the UK). All you need is a reliable internet connection and a quiet space to practice.
